anyone have any advice on like essential things to pack going for exchange.. starting to panic.. because i have no accommodation and haven't packed. so screwed.
okay, bring a brolly and raincoat. you would need that. it rains everyday and when's there sun, everyone goes´'lovely weather' and I think 'shit. it's so hot.' But yea it gets chilly at night so bring something warm for night.
Accomodation is .... tough as you had figured from my blog. Check out notice boards in supermarkets. I got my room from there and it's splendid. Bring a sleeeping bag and maybe some old bedsheets so you have something to get by. Find a mentor. Email your institution. They will prolly refer you to ELSA. (European Law Student Association) Mentor would prolly be more resourceful.
Bring shower stuff, stationary, loads of money, some instant noodles, DVDS TO GET BY THE FIRST FEW DAYS WHEN YOU ARE MISSING HOME.
Install skype before you leave and sign up as a member. cheap phonecalls. get all electronics stuff in singapore.
I hoep this helps. If it does, drop by COPENHAGEN. =) I know you are doing that already. But come sooner and stay longer!
Good luck with lodging. again. cause I had a tough time, stay at a friend's place if you can while sourcing for flats.
You could give the international office a try but don't depend on it too much. It's always 'lodging is hard to come by in this city.' yadda yadda. There's a lot of rooms, just which are the good and cheap ones. For that, you will need a week or month to find or you can get really lucky.
Mentor, mentor, very important!! Get them! Be nice!
